Microneedling
What is it?
Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that involves puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles, creating new collagen growth.
What are the benefits?
Results can include improved texture and firmness, a reduction in scars and stretch marks and a reduction in pore size. Other benefits include smoother fine lines and wrinkles.
What to expect?
Small, sterilized needles prick the skin to generate new collagen and skin tissue to smooth, firm, and tone skin. Your skin will be pink or red right after your treatment. This will go away on its own in the next few days.
Is there any preparation required?
Avoid topical retinoids and antibiotics for at lease a week before your appointment. Don’t take over-the-counter pain medications, such as ibuprofen, which can interfere with proper healing. Be sure to wear sunscreen on your face during the two weeks before your appointment.
